Bay Square in business bay has got a new addition to their much appraised eateries, and I’m sure Masala Pot will do their best to be in that list. Bay Square is having ample car parking space underground, hence parking won’t be an issue anytime. Visited this place for dinner on a weekday with my buddies. The staff welcomed us whole heartedly!
We tried out their famous Paan Lemonade – which was so unique with soda ,lemonade and pan mixture – absolutely loved this one! The drink is a must try on your next visit here!
Then we were served with a plate of pappad along with salad and some traditional accomplishments. The presentation was excellent! These papads are going to satisfy all your spicy food cravings!
For starters we tried out the non veg platter which included an array of chicken and lamb options. Platter was marinated well, but felt like not cooked properly inside and informed the staff and they were very much ready to replace the dish (thumps up for that )
For mains, we had butter chicken and kadai paneer .Butter chicken was way too normal with mild spices and creamy effect .Kadai Paneer was mouthwatering combination of roasted paneer, capsicum, tomato and tasted delicious with right amount of spices served in thick gravy. Absolutely loved and I literally licked my fingers .
Chicken Biryani- was tasty and rich in aroma and spices and looks like it was cooked on low heat (dum) to get all flavours out from the herbs and mix them in meat and rice. And the best and unique part was the presentation of the biriyani. Served in mason jar, accompanied by raita and thirst quenching lassi!! I must say, it was too cute to eat, but the aroma of the biriyani didn’t allow me to control .Just the perfect way to beat this summer heat!! I loved this concept and enjoyed the lassi a lot
We were served Gulab Jaamuns as desserts . It was nice but again Masala Pot served it in a very unique manner. The gulab jaamun and the sugar syrup were served seperate and I love this idea because I always end up draining the sugar syrup from my gulab jaamun to avoid the extra calories intake and hence this was so perfect for me .
And last but not the least, how about having a cutting chai, right after a heavy and spicy dinner..Ohh , 100 times yes for the chai.. Not to mention chai was served piping hot and strong.
The only thing made us uncomfortable was the airconditioning system . The place was way too warm and we informed the concerned staff and they promised us to call the maintenance team asap
The staff was very helpful and friendly – they made sure we leave with happy faces! The place has those pure desi interiors with bollywood songs playing in the background, and desi flash news kinda newspaper cuttings , definitely makes you feel like in India! Prices are very affordable and they also have a business lunch for only AED 30 so if you are ever in Business Bay around lunch time then head to Masala Pot and enjoy their tasty food at great value!
